Honestly, I never expected her to show any interestーso this turned out
to be An’s very first experience with NTN.
Now, she’s been skiing telemark for over 20 years, and as far as I know, she’s only ever worn the T3. She does have experience with low-cut options like BC cross-country boots and 75mm leather boots. But high-cut boots… has she ever even worn them? Back when she was racing (that’s over 25 years ago now), I’m pretty sure she was on the T2.
Still, since she’s continued alpine skiing, the boots might not feel all that different.
This time, she’s wearing the TX Pro WMNーthe latest NTN boot from Scarpa.
For skis, we went with a 90mm waist model suited for spring slush, paired
with the Freedom binding from Rottefella.
So, how would it go? This is probably her fourth or fifth day on skis this
seasonーand she never skis more than a couple of hours at a time. But honestly,
that’s about the same every year.
Anyway, she made it down without a fall, rode two gondola laps, and wrapped
up without any issues. About an hour in total. This time, all that happened
was that she successfully skied and experienced this setupーand that in
itself is a solid outcome. If there’s a next time, maybe I’ll ask her
for her impressions.
By the way, we have the TX Pro available in sizes 240, 250, 260, 270, and
280. If you’re interested, feel free to try them through our rental program.
Spend half a day or a full day in themーyou’ll start to get a much clearer
sense of what they really are. Definitely worth a try.
