I checked the live camera at the Nature Park, and it looked like I could already walk on skis.
“Oh really? The forest road is still open, so why not bring my skis along for some exercise?”
With that, I loaded my skis onto my e-assist bike and pedaled off.
“Wonder how far I can go?” I thought as I rode, and past Tsuga-no-Mori, the road was fully covered in snow.
From here, I switched to skis and started walking.
Hmm, I’ve walked this forest road hundreds of times, and here I am again this year.
Somehow, I feel grateful.
I arrived at the usual Kami-no-Tambo Wetland.
Amazing! Beautiful!
Wide and white-that alone seems to trigger a switch of awe built into us
from birth.
Completely moved-totally satisfied.
Over there, Mount Korenge is also completely white.
If I get another chance, maybe next time I’ll go a bit higher starting from the Nature Park.
All in all, two hours from leaving home and returning.
It’s the season when snow is so close by.
