The photo shows Scarpa's Expresso and Vinson. The new one is the former.
And the latter is well-used. The area where the shins rest has the texture
of a village hall sofa (←this is just my image). Anyway, I was talking
to a guest who stayed at the lodge. He said, "I bought a new Vinson
in case my current Vinson (←25 years old/leather is like skin !) wears
out." Ishikida said, "In that case, I should use the new one
before this Vinson wears out. The new one is pretty stiff..." Yeah,
that's right. In other words, I was telling myself that. So I've issued
a plan to start using the leather boots I haven't used yet! Thanks, Mr.
O. And well...the Expresso is so stiff... My ankles and up are like steel
(!). There's no sign of the laces tightening... Hmm. I guess I have to
walk after all. If it gets wet with deep spring granular snow, it's a total
disaster. If you keep riding on the lift, you'll never get used to it,
huh. But for today, I'll go with the lift. The skis I'm going to use are
old Rossignol. The curve of the top of the CHAMOIS AR is just too amazing.
I wonder if I can make it downhill safely? Well, it's a groomed slope.
If I ski with B-tele, double camber or whatever is no problem. It's just
a little nerve-wracking. EQUIPE TRS is also OK. Of course, it's easier
than skiing with CRISPI's BRE, which means it's soft boots, but the edge
control is effective. I changed and next time I'll go with AT. Rossignol
7S. With tech bindings. The video I saw the other day was helpful, so I'll
imitate it and put it into practice. I guess. YouTube is a blessing. I
wonder if my videos are helping someone too? Anyway, that was the first
day of breaking in my new leather boots. January 27, 2025
