I quickly drew the big difference between B-tele and A-tele on a copy paper. The base is the X-axis and Y-axis. Do you understand it somehow? A-tele is what is called up and down movement. So from which point does it start to go up and down? It is the ground (snow surface). Or it could be with respect to the skis. By stretching up, you change to the lead ski, and by crouching down, you open your feet forward and backward to get into telemark position. I think this is a typical way of skiing in telemark. Let's call this A. Next, B is when the line of the X-axis passes through the center of mass (← in this case, it means the center of the structure, not the center of gravity / so-called around the navel) instead of the ground. From there, you stretch your body. Stretching is pushing, so the word "pressure" is appropriate. Stretching and pushing is pressurization. Contracting and pulling is decompression. All of this force is applied to the skis. It is applied in a straight line from the center of the body to the skis. It can also be said like this. Your feet are directly under your body all the time! Especially when you contract them. Why? Because being heel-free allows the knees to go forward (← this is the key point!). I think this is the biggest advantage of heel-free skiing in downhill skiing. The heels rise, so the knees go forward. So the feet are always directly under the upper body. Whether it's one foot or two feet. You may not need to compare, but when you are shortened in alpine skiing, the knees do not go forward, so the hips go backward. So you position your shoulders forward to balance the weight. That's why in alpine skiing, the hands are forward and the upper body is covered forward in a silhouette. On the other hand, in telemark skiing, the feet are always under the body, so there is no need to position the hands forward. The upper body is straight. The elbows do not leave the side of the body. This is my B-tele, which you can see in the video. Well, there's no point in trying to find out the irrationality of A. If you want to ski with your feet forward and backward! That's what telemark skiing is like for people who are satisfied and enjoy it. That's fine. And on the other hand, there is also telemark skiing like this. That was A and B. For more information, please take the B-tele course. It is available all year round, even in seasons when there is no snow. After all, it is a lecture held in the building. Please come if you are interested. |
