I started walking at 6:00 and headed towards Mt. Amakazari. Today I used
a combination of soft shoes and 3-pin. If you're walking on asphalt, these
crispy soft shoes might be the easiest to walk in. So, in other words,
"walking on boards" is XC skiing, and since you're walking on
the same hard surface with your soles, soft shoes are the easiest to walk
in when skiing. Do you get it? This logic... "Walking on boards"
is a phrase I learned from a top Norwegian skier. Anyway, I took a detour
and wandered around again this time. There was a lot of snow this year,
so I started from the forest road and went into the side. In other words,
the snow is connected. When I went in, a beautiful view opened up. When
I went up another step, it opened up again. Beech forests are nice. Each
time, I took a quick look at a slope that looked like it would be skiable
and then I was ready to try it! I just wanted to try a steep slope. In
the end, it was too early in the morning, so the snow was still hard. On
top of that, my shoes were floppy and my skis were rather thick, so they
didn't fit very well... But that was to be expected. Anyway, wandering
around here and there was fun, as it seems to be a heel-free system. Now
that I was hungry, I took a hammock rest. Alone in the forest. The birds
singing. Shining new greenery. Swinging back and forth. A hammock is essential.
On the way back, I skied down the mountain with a diagonal downhill and
kick turns. I reached the parking lot at 8:30. It was still 8:30... Shall
I go up to do some mogul skiing again today? May 15, 2025
