At the end of the season, or when the nearest ski resort has closed, etc., telemark ski instructors come to my place. In other words, they are in the same business. If they want, I will give them lessons, and I will ski with them for a short time. They usually teach customers, watching their skiing, judging them, and giving them advice. That's why they may have a habit of analyzing their skiing. So, when I ski with them, I always ask them, "How was my skiing?" I get flattery, inoffensive responses, etc. In this case, maybe it's not suitable for Japanese people to respond too dryly. Or rather? ? I think that the first thing I learned in English-speaking countries was to praise them by saying "GOOD!!" In fact, "Good!" and "Excellent!" are often used in lessons for foreigners. Well, it's not fair to just ask, so I respond to them properly. "You're too slow!!" Well, there are quite a few telemark skiers who are like this. They do telemark turns and are slow. Are they really in telemark position to slow down? ? It just looks like it. That's the difference in the front and back foot opening that acts as a brake. They brake in telemark position. There are a lot of them. And there are instructors too. They are what we call A-tele types. People in telemark position. Anyway, you can still ski at Hakuba ski resort until early May. If you want to experience a different type of telemark, please come. If you go over bumpy bumps, your body may change before your mind. This is from my experience. April 4, 2025
