Today I went to Goryu again. I brought two sets of old skis, leather boots, and NTN. I thought I brought Scarpa Vinson leather boots, but it was Expresso (!). It brings back memories. It was the 1990s. And the NTN boots are from CRISPI. Probably a model called SHIVER RANDO. I wonder if it was from 2012 or 2011? Either way, I think it was the first lineup of CRISPI NTN boots. But I bought them and only used them once or twice. This is the first time I've used them since then. First up are the leather boots. Since it's a resort slope, there's no need to be cautious. I skied comfortably with the B-tele. Well, I skied the same way with leather boots and NTN, that's my first impression after playing the selfie video. It's just a repetition of returning to the icon and outputting from the icon. And when the width of the skis is narrow, it feels like I'm pulling with a yanagiba knife, and I enjoy the delicate operation of the blade. It's fun after all. Now, I changed into NTN. It's clearly different from Scarpa's NTN boots. I see, maybe if you wear CRISPI boots, you naturally end up with that kind of style... I muttered to myself as I skied down two lifts. The influence of equipment is strong, isn't it? Now, I've gotten used to skiing enough to be able to take selfies. So I decided to try A-tele. I focused on up and down movement. Now, this up and down movement with one hand using a selfie stick is also extremely scary. I know a few reasons. However, I won't write about them here. However, I have a theory that I came up with. This theory is: "The theory that telemark skiers with one-handed selfie stick style that you can see on YouTube don't move up and down." By the way, when I uploaded a video this morning, the comment section seemed to open, and I received a message from someone overseas. "I'm taking selfies with the same one-handed style. Greetings from the other side of the world." His skiing doesn't involve up and down movement either. Hmm... If you turn it around, you might get a theory like this: "If you take a selfie with one-handed ski poles, you stop moving up and
down" or "You won't be able to move up and down at all." Hmm, that's interesting. By the way, I don't think "up and down movement" is necessary at all in my telemark skiing teaching method. In fact, I don't think it's necessary in alpine skiing methods either... That's my position. Well, this is getting long, so I'll stop here. Anyway, the story goes that you'll notice something if you go out skiing. December 3, 2024
