The snowfall in the last two days was 40cm(!). And this morning, I cleared
the snow around the house for 2.5 hours. I also had to protect the Japanese
pepper tree for winter, which took an additional hour. I felt like I had
done a good job, and after having a delicious breakfast, I was able to
take a break. Oh!! By the way, the Tsugaike/Happo/Goryu ski resorts are
open from today! 20% of me thought "I might as well go there."
50% thought "I don't need to go to a crowded place." 20% thought
"I can ski on weekdays, so I'll skip the weekends," which left
me with 20%. So, I got ready and drove to Tsugaike, which was a 2-minute
drive away. I was shocked!! At around 9am, the parking lots on both sides
were almost full(!). Oh dear...I was honestly scared, so I made a U-turn
at the roundabout and headed to Mahoroba. I decided to walk through the
quiet forest after all. I used EXPLORE. I knew this from the snow removal,
but the snow was just right, like fresh concrete. I tried making a slope
with steps again and skiing down it, but fresh concrete was still fresh
concrete. I gave up skiing and enjoyed walking and the snow. When I returned,
I saw a snow groomer on the gentle slope right in front of Mahoroba. Maybe
they were trying to use the caterpillar to pack up the snow? The caterpillar
tracks were rough, but it seemed easier to walk on than walking in the
fresh concrete. Then I had lunch. In the afternoon, I decided to do a little
more exercise, so I went to the slope. I could walk. Good fitness. I continued
on to Makinoiri. This was a field of fresh concrete about 1.5 times deeper
than the previous forest. Of course the amount of power required was proportional.
Ah, I'm working hard. Since I was alone this time, I didn't need to keep
it up for long, so I made a U-turn. Going down. I just had to retrace my
steps, which was somehow extremely technical and I loved the fresh concrete♪
so it was just too much fun. Once I got on the slope, even the uneven caterpillar
tracks were a great feeling. I could ski down the slope. Because I could
move the skis sideways. B-tele is great. I went down the slope by myself,
laughing. It was a fun day. I'm glad I tried skiing, which is easy to walk
on. November 30, 2024
